MOO MiniCards

Overview

In 2013, I was contacted by London-based print company MOO to showcase their product features via illustration. Their Printfinity feature allowed clients to print as many as up to 50 unique designs on the back of every business card in a pack. I was one of a few artists that MOO asked to envision a pack of illustrated MOO MiniCards.

National Parks Inspiration

I always love illustrating a series of images, and I was thrilled to learn that MOO had no subject specification: the topic of these illustrations would be left entirely up to me, as long as I produced a minimum of 50 unique illustrations at 2.75" x 1.10". I wanted to use a mix of type and image on an accessible topic so I chose to focus on US National Parks. Growing up, my family had a tradition of visiting National Parks, and I had continued seeking them out as an adult as they seemed to provide an endless source of visual inspiration! I enjoyed the challenge of researching the features of each park, highlighting their unique features while also making sure the illustrations worked together as one large set. There were 62 at the time, although more have been added since!

Products

The resulting MOO MiniCards showed off the illustrations beautifully, thanks to their premium paper stock and full-color printing. This collaboration turned out to be a great preview of MOO products, as I would go on to see many other graphic artists using their services in the years ahead. It turned out that this Printfinity feature was a convenient and natural way to share a portfolio of artwork under the guise of taking a business card!
